I Want to Remember
Yesterday found me sitting down at the table with a stack of pictures, some new scrapbook paper and a blank book waiting to be filled. Even though it's been nearly a year and a half since our wedding and our first baby is due tomorrow, I figure better late than never, right?
I've been woefully behind on scrapbooking my life--the last event I chronicled being college graduation in 2007--but I decided that instead of waiting until I got 2007-2009 scrapbooked, I'd just start with our wedding. Why?
Because I want to remember.
No, I won't forget our wedding day, but it's the details I want to capture before they're gone from my mind. I want to remember that it was Lisa who hand-addressed all our invitations, BJ who designed our programs, Lise' who arranged our flowers and my aunt who made our cake. I don't want to forget about the flat tire we got after post-reception pictures--though I don't think there's any chance of that happening--and that our photographers changed it for us. (Yes, we spent the morning after our wedding having brunch while Firestone fixed the hole. I have a feeling the "Just Married" decorations contributed to the fact that they did it for free!)
So even though a lot of exciting events have transpired since September 12, 2009, I'm going back and reliving those moments as I crop, arrange and glue, because I want to remember.
